Job Summary
The Director of Trust Administration Services oversees the provision of Trust Administration services at Achieva Family Trust. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper and effective administration of trusts for which AFT serves as trustee. This position will help ensure that all trust-related operations are conducted with integrity, compliance and alignment with our mission of supporting people with disabilities and their families. Reports to the Vice President of Achieva Family Trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports the achievements of individuals’ personal outcomes, serving as general legal counsel for the Achieva Family Trust.
- Responsible for the trust administration function of Achieva Family Trust. Fosters positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and promotes a collaborative, mission-driven work environment.
- Communicates with and interacts with trust beneficiaries and family members in regards to potential or existing trust accounts.
- Develops and implements initiatives to enhance the trust administration program.
- Participates on the Board Long Range Planning Committee, Social Services Committee and others, as requested. May be required to attend Board meetings.
- Serves as the primary point of contact regarding trust administration activities for AFT relationships with service providers.
- Ensures that computer systems are kept accurate and updated on all communications and activity regarding the trust.
- Provides leadership, direction, and training to trust administration staff to assure quality program planning, implementation and documentation.
- Provides guidance and supervision to the entire Trust Administration Team regarding the appropriateness of trust distributions in light of applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and trust document language.
- Represents Achieva Family Trust at community events and participates in speaking engagements, as appropriate to assist in community education regarding Achieva Family Trust services.
- Obtains and maintains accurate and up to date information on government benefit programs as they relate to special needs trusts.
- Collaborates with the Trust Attorney and the Finance Team to facilitate the onboarding of new trusts and the closure of trusts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Must have experience with regards to trust administration and knowledge of government benefits preferred.
- Excellent customer service, computer and oral presentation skills required.
- Must have organizational skills and ability to work independently, think critically, have excellent attention to detail and work well with others.
- Act 33/34 clearances required upon employment.
- Valid drivers license and properly insured vehicle for daily use.
