Position Summary
The Annual Giving Coordinator is a key member of Achieva’s Development team, responsible for leading and supporting all annual fundraising initiatives across the organization. This role develops and implements strategic plans to raise annual funds, coordinates and executes signature events, cultivates and stewards donors, and contributes to the organization’s overall development goals.

The ideal candidate is an experienced fundraiser with strong communication, organization, and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet fundraising objectives and strengthen Achieva’s community impact.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Annual Fundraising
  • Develop and implement strategic annual fundraising plans, establishing goals and benchmarks to achieve yearly giving objectives.
  • Assist in creating an Advancement Annual Fund Plan to inform Achieva’s annual operating budget.
  • Develop, write, and manage a strategic direct mail program, including appeals, design, production, and data analysis.
  • Identify and secure corporate partnerships, donors, and sponsorships to expand funding sources.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards to track fundraising progress and present results to leadership and the Board.
  • Event Planning & Management
  • Lead planning and execution of Achieva fundraising events, including: 
    • Achieva Promenade,
    •  Achieva Golf Classic, 
    • Achieva N’at, 
    • Achieva Annual Employee
    • United Way Campaign
    • Arc Erie County Annual Walk.
  • Oversee volunteers and staff support for events, ensuring seamless execution and meaningful donor engagement.
  • Evaluate event performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Donor Cultivation & Stewardship
  • Create and implement donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.
  • Develop compelling fundraising messaging that highlights Achieva’s mission and impact.
  • Support the VP of Advancement with trustee engagement and donor relations initiatives.
  • Team Leadership & Administration
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development Operations to align goals and ensure timely execution of projects.
  • Assist in department budget development and monitor expenses and revenue.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to meet resource needs and deadlines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Fundraising, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of fundraising or development experience with increasing responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success in annual fund program growth and event management.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana) preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • CFRE certification a plus.
  • Work Environment
  • Hybrid schedule: up to two remote days per week and three in-office days.
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours for events or meetings.
  • Occasional travel for events, community engagements, and donor meetings.
