Salary: This professional position follows the Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule, starting at Bachelor's, Step 1 - $55,937 for the 25/26 SY
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 190 days/year
Job Goal: To enhance student progress and achievement by providing behavioral coaching and support to schools, families, and communities.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Participates as a member of educational team(s) and attends meetings as necessary and appropriate (e.g., IEP, classroom teaming, class reviews, etc.).
2. Assesses student needs; progress; and performance in social, emotional and behavioral, academic, and/or developmental areas.
3. Leads and assists educational staff in the development, maintenance, and implementation of classroom behavior plans, IEP goals, progress monitoring, positive behavioral support plans, and/or crisis management plans.
4. Leads and assists educational staff in the development and application of management techniques and strategies that supports the delivery of effective instruction.
5. Creates data collection tools in order to guide behavioral goal development in the IEP.
6. Collects and analyzes behavioral data to report on functional performance.
7. Provides case management services (i.e., ongoing review of student needs; resources; progress; performance; and acts as liaison between school, family, and community agencies) as applicable.
8. Maintains contact with appropriate agencies, private physicians and/or therapists, school district personnel, etc., regarding student needs and progress as appropriate.
9. Works with the Program Supervisor to plan and implement program operations.
10. Contributes towards development and maintenance of an environment which is non- threatening, safe, nurturing, and where the students feel respected, accepted, and welcomed.
11. Maintains a knowledge base of current theories and practices in the field by attending pertinent Professional Development/Continuing Education programs, networking with professional colleagues, and reading relevant professional literature.
12. Advises administrators and staff regarding best practices and regulations on behavioral interventions.
13. Provides or participates in professional development on pertinent topics related to the program assigned.
14. Attends staff or program planning meetings as assigned.
15. Completes all required reports and records within established timelines as required by Federal and State regulations and adheres to CAIU policies and procedures.
16. Transports students when necessary and only when accompanied by another staff member.
17. Supports the mission of the CAIU and its Strategic Plan.
18. Assumes any other responsibilities as assigned by Program Supervisor or his/her designee.
19. Assumes any other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or his/her designee.
