NOTE: Must be a uniform wearing Salvationist in good standing to meet program requirements
Schedule/Hours: Full-Time/40 Hours Per Week. Some Saturdays and evenings may be required due to Corps events and seasonal programs.
This position is responsible for:
Assists the Corps Officer in developing, administering, coordinating, and leading a variety of Corps programs; assists in coordinating and participating in outreach efforts and programs to assist the youth in the community; drives as necessary to support Corps events. Relieves Corps Officer of administrative detail and administration operations, functions, and duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists in the promotion of Corps growth and plans as well as Army programs and services in the community.
- Assists in supervising and coordinating corps program activities; helps ensure programs are properly staffed and that materials and supplies are available.
- Assists in planning special concerts, Vacation Bible School and Youth Rallies, helps ensure that all services are publicized in the area newspapers and on television and radio if necessary.
- Assists in ordering program supplies and materials.
- Assists in coordinating transportation for Corps programs.
- Assists in planning, preparing, and leading specific Corps ministries programs; leads or assists with regular meetings for Corps Cadets, Adventure Corps, and Junior Legion, Junior Soldiers, Men’s Club, and Women’s Ministries; prepares and coordinates or assists with production of Christian program materials and newsletters; assists in Sunday School teacher development; assists in maintaining program records and ordering supplies and materials; assists in coordinating field trips and guest speakers; assists in coordinating tutoring and mentoring programs.
- Performs varied and/or routine administrative duties; prepares or assists in preparing or compiles statistical reports related to TSA programs; assists in establishing general policy and mission for Corps programs; assists with the administrative detail of designing, overseeing, and evaluating Corps programs.
- Assists in coordinating arrangements for summer camp programs; assists in scheduling transportation and preparing parent notifications.
- Scans all deposits and invoices for the Corps/Family Store to the Regional accounting representative.
- Mail checks and invoices out as needed. Attaches check stubs to the invoices and files the information.
- Files accounting/financial paperwork received from Divisional Headquarters.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to read and follow a map and/or hand-written directions.
- Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of the work time.
- Duties are usually performed by a combination of sitting, walking, and/or driving a motor vehicle. Duties may also require the ability to lead and participate in recreational and/or athletic/sports programs.
- Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures and driving a vehicle in moderate to heavy traffic.
