Job Summary:

The Substitute Teacher will provide temporary instructional support in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, ensuring a seamless learning experience for students. This role involves implementing lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and fostering a positive and engaging environment that aligns with the school’s mission and values. 

 

Personal Requirements: 

The ideal candidate has a professed and demonstrated relationship with Jesus Christ, and participates regularly in their local church. Applicants must agree with Northlake Christian School’s Mission, Statement of Faith, and Declaration of Moral Standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring that educational objectives are met.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting a respectful and productive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their engagement and participation.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and needs within the classroom.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback as necessary to support their academic growth.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding classroom activities and student behavior.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom, following school policies and procedures.
  • Complete any required administrative tasks, such as attendance tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure a cohesive educational experience across grade levels.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A personal commitment to the Christian faith and alignment with the school’s values
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Classroom management skills and ability to maintain a positive learning environment

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, relevant experience will be considered
  • Prior work with children in an educational setting is preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to traverse school facilities and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must clear the Louisiana Child Care Criminal Background Check and drug screening
