About the Role:

Automatic Pool Covers in Westfield IN is seeking an experienced and results-driven Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team and champion improvements in manufacturing processes, product functionality, and overall operational efficiency. This pivotal leadership position ensures seamless collaboration between engineering, production, and quality teams—supporting both new product development and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.

 What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the development and implementation of efficient, cost-effective manufacturing processes.
  • Oversee the entire product development cycle to ensure manufacturability and quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with engineering and leadership teams to align with company goals and support strategic planning.
  • Evaluate and implement engineering changes, specifications, and process improvements.
  • Manage and coordinate internal and external manufacturing changes and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement new equipment and tools to support production improvements.
  • Ensure alignment between engineering and other departments (production, quality, etc.).
  • Supervise, coach, and develop engineering staff; manage team performance and career development.
  • Ensure department goals and project milestones are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, quality systems, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with SolidWorks; PDM/PLM systems knowledge preferred.
  • Familiarity with engineering measurement tools and technical documentation standards.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred:

  • Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems.
  • Strong background in engineering documentation, specification reviews, and cross-functional project management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
