Mayvin, Inc. is currently seeking experienced applicants to serve as a Firearms and Toolmark Examiner. This position is based out of Ft. Gillem, GA (Atlanta area). The work is done OCONUS only. A skills assessment is required (~4-5 months in Atlanta); hotel and per diem will be included for candidates located outside the region. Subsequent deployments to Bahrain, Kuwait, Djibouti, or Iraq are possible, with final deployment final locations being determined by the customer.

Must have an active Secret clearance.

Once selected to work in partner labs run by the Defense Forensics Science Center (DFSC), candidate must be able to pass competency and proficiency tests administered at DFSC. The inability to pass the competency test and remain proficient as required can possibly result in removal from the contract.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct microscopic comparisons of questioned bullets and cartridge cases
- Examining various types of manufacturers, class, and individual characteristics of tools and tool marks on a variety of objects
- Conduct shooting incident reconstruction
- Provide training for other laboratory examiners and personnel regarding firearm safety and proper handling techniques
- Provide guidance/expertise to latent print examiners regarding assisting them with potential locations on firearms where latent prints may be found
