Mayvin, Inc. seeks a Federal Travel Regulations Program Analyst to support our U.S. Marshals Service contract in the Financial Services Division.  The Program Analyst will ensure that travel expenses and reimbursements within the United States Marshals Service (USMS) comply with established laws, regulations, and guidelines.

 

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must undergo a Background Investigation (BI)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Audit travel claims by reviewing federal employee travel expense reports and claims to ensure adherence to the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR) and other pertinent guidelines
  • Validate documentation and receipts related to travel, ensuring that expenses are legitimate, reasonable, and necessary
  • Identify discrepancies, unauthorized expenses, and non-compliance with travel policies to ensure compliance, and assist with periodic internal and external audits concerning travel expenses
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports that outline findings, discrepancies, and recommendations for corrective actions
  • Provide consultation for complex or unusual travel situations to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Work together with finance, human resources, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth travel management and precise reimbursement processes
  • Assist in the developing solutions for compliance issues or irregularities found during audits

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is required
  • Minimum one year experience comprehending FTR policies, including per diem rates, travel allowances, and other federal travel requirements
  • Minimum one year of experience reviewing complex travel claims and identifying discrepancies or non-compliance
  • Minimum one year of experience ensuring accuracy in travel audits and documentation
  • Understanding of budgeting, accounting, and finance related to government travel expenses

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior E2, Concur, or the Defense Travel System (DTS) experience
  • Previous government experience
