Program and Role Summary:

Wayfinder’s Specialty Mental Health Program offers therapy to children, youth, and families in the program. 

 

The primary focus of the Clinical Program Manager is to oversee the day to day clinical services provided in the outpatient mental health clinic/specialty mental health program. This involves the administrative and supervision of assigned Therapists, Child and Family Specialists, and support staff in the delivery of a quality clinical program within a community mental health clinic setting 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure assigned programs are in compliance with all agency policies and procedures, including adhering to all state and/or federal funding requirements and licensing/contractual requirements.
  • Supervise, orient, and evaluate assigned therapists, Child and Family Specialists, and support staff, including but not limited to, providing employee counseling, coaching and training, and assisting with the recruitment, interviewing and hiring of staff.
  • Responsible for regular scheduled weekly individual and group supervision and adhering to all standards of supervision outlined by the Board of Behavioral Science in close partnership with other clinical program manager.
  • Provide assistance to assigned supervisees for program issues and crises that may arise, including urgent issues that may arise after regular work hours.
  • Assist assigned staff in completed monthly internal audits, while assisting assigned staff in maintaining a 90% or higher average on final audit reviews.
  • Responsible for a timely review of supervisees’ Electronic Health Records System (EHRS) notes and documentation.
  • Responsible for monitoring team productivity and compliance with Medi-Cal billing requirements.
  • Oversight of the intake process, assignment and discharge of client cases as needed.
  • Participate in treatment reviews, individual education plans (IEP), and other case conferences such as Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings as needed.
  • Provide direct service to clients as needed.
  • Maintain and follow through on the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) processes for clinical and case management functions and services.
  • Promote the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process by identifying quality indicators and opportunities for departmental and organizational process improvement.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • At a minimum, must hold a Master’s degree in clinical psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Must possess licensure in a mental health discipline, as recognized by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, such as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Certified in approved Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) and experience supervising clinicians trained in EBPs preferred.
  • Meets Board of Behavioral Sciences requirements for Clinical Supervision of Marriage and Family Therapist Associates, as well as Clinical Social Work Associates, including completion of BBS-approved Clinical Supervision training preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of post-graduate clinical experience is required.
  • Successful experience related to a supervisory role is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with youth and families with high mental health needs, preferably in a specialty mental health setting.
