We are currently looking for an Assistant Shelter Manager who will work in conjunction with the Wilton Operations Manager to run the shelter operations of our Pet Resource Center. This position will manage and supervise the daily operation and flow of animals through the shelter providing daily management of all shelter staff, and shelter programs such as animal care, intake, adoptions, behavior, crisis foster and special assistance. They will work with the Assistant Clinic Manager on oversight of medical staff and shelter medical cases. They will work directly with members of the public on resolving customer concerns. The incumbent will also be responsible for establishing and driving a culture of excellent customer service, providing regular, ongoing feedback to employees, and working with the Wilton Operations Manager to address all issues promptly.
Overview:
This full-time position with benefits is ideal for someone with minimum of three (3) years of experience managing in the animal sheltering/welfare or veterinary setting preferred as well as at least two (2) years of staff management experience required. This position needs to have the ability to evaluate and solve problems and have sound judgment and effective decision- making skills. We are looking for a positive, creative, customer service oriented individual who can work well within and lead a team. Interested individuals must be able to be a leader, handle multiple priorities and enjoy a busy environment. This position includes working a weekend day. Pay Range: $58,000 to $65,000/annualized based on experience.
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday but will be re-evaluated once the operation is up and running. If needed the schedule may change.
