Summary
The Head Girls Volleyball Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the volleyball program in keeping with The Bolles School’s mission and athletic philosophy. The coach provides guidance and support to student-athletes, focusing on skill development, teamwork, personal growth, and sportsmanship while maintaining a safe, positive, and competitive environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead the volleyball program at all levels, including varsity, junior varsity, and middle school when applicable.
• Plan and conduct effective practices that emphasize skill development, conditioning, and game preparation.
• Model and promote the values of integrity, respect, and sportsmanship.
• Manage all aspects of game preparation including scheduling, scouting, and game strategy.
• Collaborate with the Athletic Director to recruit, hire, and mentor assistant coaches.
• Ensure that all team activities follow School, conference, and FHSAA regulations.
• Monitor student-athlete eligibility, academic progress, and adherence to team and school expectations.
• Communicate clearly with student-athletes, parents, and members of the athletic department.
• Oversee team equipment, uniforms, and inventory and coordinate necessary purchases or repairs.
• Support and encourage student participation in multiple sports.
• Work closely with the athletic trainer and the Director of Sports Medicine on injury prevention and return-to-play procedures.
• Attend coaches’ meetings, professional development, and School events as required.
• Serve as a positive representative of The Bolles School and its athletic program in the community.
