As a Strength and Conditioning Coach, you’ll be an integral part of shaping the physical development and character of our student athletes across a wide range of sports.

Position Overview:
The Bolles School is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Strength and Conditioning Coach to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive training program for Upper School student-athletes. This full-time, year-round position plays a vital role in enhancing athletic performance, promoting injury prevention, and fostering lifelong habits of health and fitness.

The ideal candidate is passionate about developing athletes of all skill levels, works collaboratively with coaches and athletic trainers, and prioritizes safety, character development, and school values.


Essential Functions:
• Design and lead age-appropriate strength and conditioning programs for all athletic teams
• Develop individualized training plans in collaboration with sport-specific coaches
• Oversee the safe and effective use of weight room and training facilities
• Support athletes in injury prevention and post-injury rehabilitation in coordination with athletic trainers
• Promote proper technique, discipline, and a culture of respect in all training sessions
• Maintain accurate records of student-athlete performance, participation, and progress
• Collaborate with athletic staff, school administrators, and healthcare professionals to support student well-being
• Serve as a role model who upholds the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and sportsmanship
• Participate in school life, including attendance at games, school events, and professional development


Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• Certification by a nationally accredited organization (e.g., CSCS, NASM, NSCA, or USAW)
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Previous experience developing and leading strength and conditioning programs, preferably at the high school or collegiate level
• Strong communication, leadership, and motivational skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for student-athletes
• Availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed

Physical Requirements:
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to demonstrate physical movements, techniques, and conditioning exercises
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods
• Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Visual and auditory ability to observe and monitor student-athlete safety during workouts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred, and two years related experience and/or training.

  • Excellent knowledge of physical conditioning methods.

  • Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills.

  • Working knowledge of FHSAA rules and regulations

 

Essential Functions:

  • Strength and conditioning instructor for upper school physical education classes

  • Explains, demonstrates, and monitors the use of equipment.

  • Explains and demonstrates principles, techniques, and methods of regulating movement of body, hands, or feet to achieve proficiency to coaches and students

  • Observes student athletes during workouts to detect and correct mistakes and any potential unsafe conditions; including explaining and enforcing safety rules and regulations regarding the safe and proper use of all conditioning equipment and facilities.

  • Organizes and conducts off-season strength and conditioning program as requested by other coaches

  • Along with the trainer, consult and advise coaches in developing and implementing strength, conditioning and warm up exercise programs for all sports in the upper school as requested.

  • Recommend purchases, maintain, and repair strength and conditioning equipment

  • Provides instruction to coaches and student athletes as directed by the athletic director.

  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a valid, current Florida CDL license C; B license

  • Coach as requested by Athletic Director and supervise weight room for an hour after school, Monday – Friday if not in coaching in season.

  • Manages and coordinates special projects for the athletics director.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
