Position Summary

The primary purpose will be to maintain the property, including common areas, recreational areas, administrative offices, curbs, sidewalks and trash enclosures. Custodian will report any potential safety and liability issues as well as other physical defects on the properties.

Open Shift: 4pm - 8pm or closing.

Essential Duties

  • Respond to assignments and work orders from the Head Maintenance Supervisor and Administrator.

  • Check campus for any obvious problems.

  • Handyman skills are a big plus.

  • Assist staff/volunteer workers/guests as required, including last minute set-up needs.

  • Assist with floor cleaning and carpet cleaning when assigned.

  • Fill in any necessary restroom needs including TP, paper towels and seat covers during group usage.

  • Take all trash out from used rooms after events/activities end.

  • Expectation of vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash containers, window cleaning and industrial kitchen cleaning. You must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs and be able to walk/stand/climb for prolonged periods of time.

  • Lock all room doors and gates upon your departure for safety.

  • Help maintain storage areas and garages.

  • Relay any discrepancies/incidents of properties or group usage to the Head Maintenance Supervisor and the Church and School Administrator.

     

     

     

 

Qualifications

Position Requirements

Spiritual:

  • Affirms that, as part of the qualifications for this position, he/she is a Christian who knows the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. (John 3:3, 1 Peter 1:23). Reads and signs the Ministry Commitment and Staff Handbook Acknowledgment Page.

 

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of:

Skilled and knowledgeable in the safe use of tools and equipment as well as cleaning agents and fluids. Have an "eye for excellence" and be detail oriented. Must be organized with good time management skills and be an independent worker with team player attitude and attention to detail.  Skilled and knowledgeable in the safe use of maintenance of tools and equipment as well as cleaning agents and fluids.

 

Ability to:

Learn and enforce policy on facility and safety regulations; recognize and report danger to students, staff or property; move rapidly and freely about the entire campus throughout the work shift.

Demonstrate good interpersonal skills; conduct and/or coordinate work necessary to maintain property; work collaboratively with both internal and external members; establish and maintain effective organization.
