Description

This position is responsible for performing general cleaning, sanitization and maintenance of the following areas: restrooms, offices, food serving areas, stairs, corridors, lobbies, storage and equipment areas, elevators, and entryways. Quality customer service will be provided to the client at all times. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 12:00pm-4:00pm

Essential Duties:
•    Clean offices, meeting chambers and recreational facilities
•    Mop tile and concrete floor areas
•    Vacuum all carpeted areas
•    Dust all furniture and fixtures as required
•    Clean and sanitize bathrooms and locker rooms. 
•    Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves and refrigerators in break rooms. 
•    Spot clean doors, door frames, walls and carpets. 
•    Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areas.
•    Clean public bathrooms: Wash and disinfect all washroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, hand dryers and fixtures; replenish toilet tissue and soap as needed; sweep bathroom floors; wipe clean partitions; clean toilets, sinks and all metal; dust ceilings, behind doors, partition tops and all horizontal surfaces; clean mirrors; empty waste; sweep debris outside bathroom doors; mop floors.
•    Clean Daycare area: dusting all vertical and horizontal surfaces; empty trash; clean assigned bathrooms by sweeping/mop/dust/ clean sinks and toilets; clean kitchen, wipe clean fingerprints and spots on walls/doors and any horizontal surfaces; vacuum all carpeted areas; sweep/mop recreation areas’ wipe clean hallway baseboards, dust venetian blinds of classrooms and wipe clean windows/window frames.
•    Other duties as assigned. 
 

Qualifications


Required Skills and Experience:
•    2 years of janitorial experience
•    Janitor experience in a commercial building, preferred
•    High School Diploma or equivalent
•    Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment. 
•    Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Material Information System
•    Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products
•    Ability to work as a team
•    Ability to work with minimal supervision
•    Problem solving and time management skills
•    Effective verbal and written communication and listening
