Qualifications

Job Description

 

We are seeking an experienced principal equipment maintenance technician to join the laser process team in our Fremont fab.  The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of semiconductor wafer and back-end process tools. You will maintain and support process tool capability in our growing, state of the art laser fab.

 


Specific Responsibilities

 

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and service of semiconductor equipment used for both production and engineering in a cleanroom environment.

  • First line of support in; test, diagnostic, troubleshooting and solving down-time issues

  • Assist equipment engineering team with tool improvement projects.

  • Work with engineering and manufacturing with set up and calibration tasks, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, documenting or improving procedures.

  • Assist with quality programs; both sustaining as well as in preparation for major audits or certifications.

  • Safety conscious and able to maintain a safe work environment.

  • Maintain parts and spares inventories.

  • Suggest components and parts that may be needed for our tool set that are not currently identified.

 

Experience and Skills

 

  • 5+ years of industry experience in equipment maintenance in a semiconductor manufacturing environment

  • Experience with several of the following tools: EPI, PECVD, E-beam, sputter, lithography tools such as steppers and aligners, metrology tools such as ellipsometer and profilometers. Die bonders, wire bonders, plasma cleaners and hermetic packaging and wet processing tools.

  • Must be willing to work from 6.00pm to 6.00am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and every other Wednesday.

  • Experience in a quality certified environment, i.e. ISO9001, 5S, 8D, lean six sigma a plus

  • Excellent communication skills, self-driven, with the flexibility to work independently or under general guidance or direction.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • May be asked to participate as a member of the ERT (Emergency Response Team)

  • Maintain certifications for response to emergencies (HAZCOM, HAZOPER, FIRST-AID, CPR, ERT, ETC.) as required.

  • Able to properly use safety equipment to analyze risks and emergencies (SCBA, Respirator, Drager, MST Gas Leak Detection, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to receive medical clearance for a respirator.

 

 

 

The full-time salary range for the Principal Equipment Maintenance Technician position is $42.00 to $48.00 per hour with a shift differential of 17%. The range reflects the minimum and maximum possible base salary for new hires for the role, based on the advertised location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
