Qualifications

Job Description

 

KYOCERA SLD Laser is a dynamic and exciting company with a mission to pioneer the future of light by illuminating our world with the brightest and most innovative laser light sources. The company was founded by several leading global pioneers in solid state lighting, including Dr. Shuji Nakamura, 2014 Nobel Laureate in Physics.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and service of semiconductor equipment used for both production and engineering in a cleanroom environment.
  • First line of support in; test, diagnostic, troubleshooting and solving down-time issues
  • Work with engineers and manufacturing with general maintenance, set up and calibration tasks, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, documenting and or following procedures.
  • Assist with quality programs; both sustaining as well as in preparation for major audits or certifications.
  • Safety conscious and able to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Become expert equipment and maintenance owner of a subset of tools.
  • Maintain parts and spares inventories.

 

Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years industry experience in equipment maintenance in a semiconductor manufacturing environment
  • Experience with several of the following tools: EPI, PECVD, E-beam, sputter, lithography tools such as steppers and aligners, metrology tools such as ellipsometer and profilometers. Die singulation tools such as dicing, breaking. Die bonders, wire bonders, plasma cleaners and hermetic packaging and wet processing tools.
  • Experience in a quality certified environment, i.e. ISO9001, 5S, 8D, lean six sigma a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, self-driven, with the flexibility to work independently or under general guidance or direction.
  • Must be willing to work in B Shift hours: 6:00 pm–6:15 am (Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays with every alternate Wednesdays)

 

Safety Responsibilities:

  • May be asked to participate as a member of the ERT (Emergency Response Team)
  • Maintain certifications for response to emergencies (HAZCOM, HAZOPER, FIRST-AID, CPR, ERT, ETC.) as required.
  • Able to properly use safety equipment to analyze risks and emergencies (SCBA, Respirator, Drager, MST Gas Leak Detection, etc.)

 

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to receive medical clearance for a respirator.

 

 

The full-time base salary range for the Equipment Maintenance Technician position is $32.00 to $37.00 per hour with a shift differential of 12%.  The range reflects the minimum and maximum possible base salary for new hires for the role, based on the advertised location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
