 Position Summary:

Technicians perform both engine and chassis repairs on primarily Kenworth trucks, but also trailers, Peterbilt, International, Freightliner, vocational vehicles, and other makes. The scope of the job includes diagnosis, troubleshooting, and writing detailed stories for documentation purposes in addition to the physical work done on the truck.

Essential Position Functions/Responsibilities

• Provides technical services to vehicles and equipment.
• Communicates electronically and in-person
• Follows Safety procedures
• Uses electronic service tools to diagnose, repair and record service events
• Reads job order and observes and listens to vehicles in operation to resolve malfunctions and plan work procedures.
• Follows checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined.
• Coordinates with warranty administrators to ensure revenue recapture, including answering questions after repair and tagging warranty parts for return.
• Adheres to the manufacturer’s policies and procedures for troubleshooting and repairs
• Maintains workspace in an organized and clean manner.
• Completes all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
• Properly completes all work assigned by the service manager/advisor.
• Participates in technical training assigned by management.
• Ensures customer vehicles are returned at the same level of cleanliness prior to being serviced.
• Makes every effort to achieve production objectives set by management.
• Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and adjusts as needed.
• Develops and maintains friendly and courteous relationships with customers, visitors, and coworkers.

Education & Essential Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of Fleet or Dealership experience
• Possesses own tools

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Customer service skills to ensure friendly and professional interactions with customers

Preferred Qualifications:

• ASE certification
• CDL certification
