Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional writing experience
- Superior writing and editing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aircraft operations or a field with similar technical complexity
- Experience in process development
- Experience with content management system
Education Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or higher (Technical Writing, English, Journalism, Communication, or a related discipline), or
- Certification from an accredited Technical Institute or program, or
- 5+ years of Technical Writing experience may be substituted for education requirements

- Must possess excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills in order to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all employee levels and provide excellent customer service support, specifically when leading discussions and coaching departments through the process of identifying and documenting their procedures.
- Work under minimal supervision and participates in all phases of document project execution (to include research, design, development and publication).
- Ability to deliver high quality documentation with a keen eye for detail, particularly in the areas of grammar, structure, format, and spelling.
- Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and express them in easily understandable text and/or illustrations
- Author original content or edit content provided by others to ensure publication of professional, high quality documents and manuals.
- Possesses a basic understanding of document layout and design (or a keen interest in learning the same). Works independently and as part of a team on non-recurring and routine processes; takes initiative with minimal direction to solve problems.
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously with excellent time management skills required to meet deadlines or milestones.
- Ensures work is completed accurately while maintaining sensitivity to confidential or proprietary matters. Candidate must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
- A general ability to efficiently and effectively operate standard manual and automated office hardware (computers, printers, copier, lamination machine, binding machine, paper cutter, etc).
Physical requirements of the job:
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Some repetitive motions, particularly those associated with extensive computer use. Little physical effort
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee is occasionally in close proximity to handheld and table mounted machinery.
Work Environment:
- This position is full-time, on-site, non-remote.
- This position operates in a professional office environment and is primarily sedentary. The position routinely utilizes standard office equipment.
- Extended periods of sitting, using keyboard, mouse and viewing computer monitor screen.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually mild to moderate with occasional/rare periods of increased noise level if in close proximity to operating tools or motors.
- Employee must perform a variety of task, influence others, and use judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Standard work hours are 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a one-hour lunch.
- Travel is not typically expected for this position, though travel for training may be an infrequent possibility.
