SUMMARY
Partners with executive leadership to drive the organization's technological direction. Responsible for investigating, presenting, and implementing the strategic roadmap for the IT department. Serves as a key collaborator and team player, coordinating IT initiatives with other departments to develop and deliver effective solutions. Manages the lifecycle of all hardware and software, from initial installation to upgrades and ongoing support.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field; or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience within a manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Planning:
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute both short- and long-range strategic roadmaps and budgets for the IT department.
- Identify vulnerabilities, assess technology needs, and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain key relationships with external advisors and vendors.
IT Operations & Management:
- Manage and supervise IT department employees, ensuring the timely completion of projects and the delivery of high-quality support.
- Administer and help support critical business applications, including the cloud-based ERP solution, Infor Syteline.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate IT projects, procedures, and policies in line with organizational objectives.
- Continuously review and update application software and hardware to ensure systems remain current and efficient.
Service & Support:
- Act as a liaison between the IT department and other business units to understand and address their technology needs.
- Provide technical training for personnel on new software or arrange for off-site training as needed.
- Safeguard information system assets by identifying and resolving security issues and ensuring compliance with all company policies and standards.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, including solution design, implementation, and operations.
- Virtualization: Hands-on experience with VMware and Hyper-V in production environments.
- ERP Systems: Proficient with ERP systems; experience with Infor SyteLine (Cloud) and Infor OS is required.
- Hybrid Cloud & Networking: Strong understanding of hybrid cloud environments and core networking concepts; Cisco or Ruckus experience is a plus.
- Cybersecurity: Working knowledge of modern cybersecurity practices, including incident response, system patching, and user training platforms (e.g., KnowBe4).
- Scripting: Proficient in PowerShell, VBS, and Python for automation tasks.
- Manufacturing IT: Experience supporting IT operations in a manufacturing setting.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Analytical Thinking: Skilled in assessing infrastructure needs (e.g., storage, memory, backups) with a high attention to detail.
SUPERVISORYÂ RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, including system administrators and developers.
- Oversee all personnel decisions for the IT department, including hiring, promotions, and performance management.
- Manage employee development, arranging training and professional growth opportunities for direct reports and the entire IT staff.
- Assign and schedule work, providing guidance and support to ensure employees successfully complete tasks and overcome challenges.
- Communicate and enforce departmental policies, goals, and organizational objectives to all assigned employees.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback and managing the professional growth of all subordinates.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIORNMENT
This position requires regular office-based work. Employees may also be required to enter areas where PPE, such as safety glasses and safety shoes, are required. Employees must be able to:
- Stand occasionally (up to 33% of the time). Other physical activities such as walking, handling/fingering, reaching outward or above the shoulder, and bending are also occasionally required.
- Occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs., occasionally push or pull up to 12 lbs. of force.
- Use standard office equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including safety glasses and safety shoes when applicable.
- Report to work punctually as scheduled, maintain regular attendance, and work all scheduled hours including any required overtime.
REQUIRED TRAINING
All required training is determined by the department supervisor and/or manager. Procedures critical to this position may be identified as such on the Department Training Matrixes, which are maintained by the Human Resources Department.
