NOTE: this role is budgeted to start in the $160k-180k range, depending upon experience.

Summary:
Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for overall agency leadership and management, including provision of services to seniors and disabled persons through strategic planning, communications, fundraising, community collaboration projects, board relations/reporting, finance, public relations, social marketing, and program development. The CEO is chief spokesperson and advocate for the agency and fosters working relationships with government and partner agencies, community organizations, and the public. The CEO has strong working relationships with staff, Board members, community partners, and business and civic leaders, and works diligently to meet with donors and other funders, leveraging these relationships to expand financial support for the agency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In conjunction with the Board and senior management:
- Provide leadership and direction in: developing strategic and operational plan, formulating agency policies and procedures, and decisions affecting the agency
- Communicates the strategic plan and vision to the entire organization, including the executive team, staff, key stakeholders/partners and volunteers
- Play key role in agency’s fund development. In conjunction with fund development/grants and finance, this position is responsible for developing new avenues for funding and monitoring existing revenues
- Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board as an effective leader of solutions to business challenges
- Provide ongoing evaluation and compliance of agency services including the effectiveness and efficiency of agency operations and programs
- Provide ongoing financial management planning oversight and negotiation of contracts for agency services. Present an annual agency budget for approval by the Board. Ensure the agency operates efficiently and within its annual budget. Inform the Board of any significant departure from financial objectives.
- Foster and grow an active volunteer program representing the communities we serve
- Supervise and advance the continuing development of senior management through regular performance management, training needs assessment, career planning, and mentoring activities. Promote and provide collaborative leadership with senior management staff.
- Advocate and provide leadership to national, state and local policymakers on issues affecting older adults and persons with disabilities.
- Serve as spokesperson for the agency and acts as liaison for older adults and persons with disabilities within the community and with other agencies
- Engage with community leadership in fostering a clear understanding of the agency’s structure, services and objectives
- Engage with local organizations serving older adults and persons with disabilities to coordinate objectives and provides service efficiencies
- Attend meetings of the Board and the Executive Committee; report monthly to the Board; and provide necessary staff services and assistance to the Board and its committees
- Provide the Board with timely information and analysis on matters pertinent to the agency to enable them to fulfill their policy-making responsibilities
- Cultivate Board relations – provide Board members with the opportunity to meet with CEO
