SUMMARY The Chain Business Manager (CBM) is responsible for leading the strategic direction, growth, and execution of all commercial initiatives within their assigned channel. This role is accountable for driving revenue, volume, and distribution by developing customer-specific strategies, fostering high-impact relationships with key local, regional, and national buyers, and aligning internal resources to deliver consistent results at retail. The CBM will make wellprepared, professional presentations to key personnel to achieve goals and objectives established in a strategic sales plan tailored to assigned chain customers and serves as the primary point of contact for all customer business planning and collaborates cross-functionally with sales leadership, operations, brand management, and supplier partners to achieve commercial objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the development of the commercial strategy for the assigned channel, aligning customer-specific plans, supplier initiatives, and enterprise targets across volume, revenue, and distribution goals.
Own the planning process, building account and channel-level programs that integrate promotional calendars, new item launches, and key brand priorities. Serve as the strategic lead for assigned customer relationships, facilitating joint business planning and ensuring clear alignment between customer goals and commercial strategy.
Collaborate with sales leadership, brand management, and operations, to ensure commercial plans are supported by accurate forecasts, actionable timelines, and organizational readiness.
Translate customer and supplier strategies into commercial plans that are executable by sales execution teams, ensuring strategic intent carries through to the point of sale.
Use sales performance data, customer insights, and market analytics to identify opportunities, shape go-to-market strategies, and drive channel growth. Monitor in-market performance, program ROI, and retail execution trends to continuously refine strategy and maintain alignment between commercial plans and retail outcomes.
Build strong partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders, particularly priority suppliers and key accounts, to ensure alignment, transparency, and accountability.
Space Management: Coordinate with the Space Planning team to ensure the implementation of sets at retail.
Obey all federal, state and local laws.
Adhere to the company dress code and be properly groomed at all times.

EDUCATION
Duties require a broad knowledge of a general technical field such as accounting, finance, economics, industrial management, human resources, supply chain management, marketing, advertising, or business administration, etc. Education acquired in four years of college resulting in a B.A. or B.S. degree or by equivalent on-the-job training.
EXPERIENCE
Over 3 years and up to and including 5 years

Duties are diversified and involve an intensive knowledge of a field within the organization requiring the use of a wide range of procedures. RESPONSIBILITY FOR ERRORS
Probable errors would not be apparent and would be difficult to detect, usually subject only to broad controls. Errors could result in serious losses so as loss of contracts, recommendation of unsuitable equipment, resulting in excessive cost or losses over an extended period’ or other complications requiring long range corrective measures. Work not subject to audit requiring considerable accuracy and responsibility.
