Position Overview:
Student employees in the Athletics Department at Charleston Southern University play an integral role in supporting the day-to-day operations and event management of the university's athletic programs. These roles offer hands-on experience in various areas such as event planning, marketing, operations, athletic training, and broadcasting. Students will collaborate with professional staff, coaches, and athletes to help ensure the smooth execution of athletic events, support team operations, and contribute to the overall success of CSU’s athletic programs. This opportunity provides valuable professional development in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The Student Equipment Manager is responsible for assisting with the daily operations related to athletic equipment and gear for sports teams. This position plays a key support role in maintaining a professional and efficient equipment room, ensuring athletes and coaches have the necessary equipment for practices, games, and travel.
Required Skills and Attributes:
•  Good academic standing
•  Interest in sports, athletics, or team operations
•  Strong organizational and time management skills
•  Dependable, responsible, and able to follow instructions
•  Ability to lift, carry, and transport athletic equipment (up to 40 lbs)
•  Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Hours:
Part-time, approximately 0-15 hours per week.
Compensation:
$10 hourly wage, based on university student employment guidelines.
