Overview:
Person in this position functions as a crisis counselor responding via phone and is also mobile, responding to where the crisis is taking place, such as at a school (all levels), community location or home. Works cooperatively with law enforcement and schools. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, psychiatric rehabilitation, or related human services discipline; Master’s Degree required in Franklin, Gadsden, Jefferson, Liberty, Madison, Taylor and Wakulla counties. Minimum of two years’ experience in behavioral healthcare, one of which must be in crisis behavioral health services, preferred. Experience working with children and adults preferred.
ESSENTIAL/CORE JOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Function as a practicing clinician on the Mobile Response Team. Provides crisis services for on-site and in the community.
- Coordinates the crisis counseling response per Agency protocol.
- Complies with all program policies and procedures.
- Conducts clinical assessments and provide direct clinical intervention and referral services, including “warm hand-off” to other providers as directed in policy.
- Conducts and initiates Baker Acts.
OTHER JOB-SPECIFIC:
- Comply with requirements of Chapter 490 or 491, Florida Statutes, to maintain licensure, as applicable.
- Travel required between multiple service sites, to the homes or residences of persons served, and within the community.
- Perform away-from-center intervention activities.
