Position Summary

Emory & Henry College, a member of the NCAA Division II and the South Atlantic Conference, invites applications for the position of Head Women’s Wrestling Coach. This full-time position is responsible for organizing and managing all aspects of the women’s wrestling program, including but not limited to: recruitment, training, coaching, academic oversight, budget management, and program promotion in alignment with the mission and values of Emory & Henry University.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the women’s wrestling program, including practice planning, game preparation, and in-match coaching.

  • Recruit and retain academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.

  • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes academic excellence, personal growth, and athletic achievement.

  • Ensure compliance with NCAA Division II, South Atlantic Conference, and university rules and regulations.

  • Coordinate and supervise assistant coaches, graduate assistants, and support staff.

  • Manage the program’s operational budget responsibly and effectively.

  • Organize team travel, scheduling, and logistics.

  • Promote the program through community engagement, alumni relations, and campus involvement.

  • Monitor student-athletes’ academic progress and support them in achieving educational goals.

  • Collaborate with strength & conditioning staff, athletic trainers, and other support personnel to enhance student-athlete well-being and performance.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Demonstrated success and experience in wrestling coaching at the collegiate or high school level.

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in athletics.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree.

  • Previous experience coaching or competing in women’s wrestling at the collegiate level.

  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
