Key Responsibilities:
- CMM Programmer & Operator with ownership of the CMM inspection process to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed Customer requirements. Calypso software utilized at Essner.
- Collaboration with Engineering department to obtain the 3D model extracted files for programming the CMM and problem solving of product related issues.
- Proficiency in interpreting Customer drawings, models, related to the assurance that all dimensional requirements of the product are met.
- Proficiency in GD&T per ASME Y 14.5 specification requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records as required by the applicable specifications and internal requirements.
- Perform semi-complex inspection of components using a wide variety of measuring instruments such as micrometer, ID/OD mics, thread gauges, protractor, height gauge, optical comparator and profilometer to determine acceptance or rejection of parts and/or parts surface roughness/finish
- Perform first article inspections to customer drawings, specifications and internal documents
- Use mathematics to convert blueprint dimension and tolerances
- Work within the guidelines of drawings, schematics, blueprints, route sheets, travelers, quality directives, technical engineering specifications, customer’s requirements and military standards
- Perform inspections in accordance with applicable requirements within the assembly department
- Assist customer/government source inspectors (as necessary)
- Perform complete inspections in accordance with the applicable specifications, standards and other contractual documents
- Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results in accordance with approved procedures
Assist with the investigation of Customer complaints, nonconforming material returns (as directed by Quality Management).
