Summary: The Crisis Stabilization Specialist provides direct mental health care to non-hospitalized individuals (18 and up) experiencing a mental health crisis that may put their current community living situation at risk. This service provides an emergency response to situations where an individual’s behavior causes a concern for safety.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience


A bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field from an accredited college or university and with at least one year of clinical experience providing direct services to persons with a diagnosis of mental illness. Must demonstrate competence in assertive/aggression management. Must enjoy seeing clients in the community. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. Must have current, valid driver's license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving record.

 

Language Skills


Ability to read, analyze, and interprets common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

Mathematical Skills


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Computer Skills


To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software to access company e-mail and training and evaluation tools and a working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software. Demonstrated knowledge in the use of electronic health records.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPR certification.

 

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to exercise independent judgment with established procedures
Effective oral and written communication skills. Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks, set priorities and meet expectations
