Description

Maintains relationships and favorable contacts with current and potential accounts.

Resolves customer issues/problems, researches and makes recommendations for potential product enhancements or modifications to increase sales.

May assist in the preparation of sales forecasts, quotes or negotiations.

May require a bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. 

Typically reports to a manager. (Increase customer satisfaction. Retain accounts. Identify needs and consult on solutions. Process and plan customer jobs.  Customer Job/Project Management)

Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager.

Internal Description

An account manager is responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with existing clients or customers of a company.  The focus is on inside sales activities, supporting current accounts and active customers.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients or customers
  • Ensure that customer needs and expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Conduct research to identify potential customers and generate sales leads.
  • Contact potential customers via phone, email, or online chat to introduce products or services and close sales.
  • Develop and implement account strategies and plans to maximize revenue and profitability from existing accounts.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support, answering questions and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Work collaboratively with the sales team to develop and implement sales strategies and tactics.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information and sales data in the company's customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and product knowledge to effectively communicate product features and benefits to customers.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and customer service, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes to increase productivity and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
