The Sr. POS IT Field Service Technician role is a critical position supporting our POS systems, IT hardware, network infrastructure, and field service initiatives.  This senior technician will be a trusted partner to the Vice President of IT & POS Systems, playing a key role in executing POS system conversions, IT rollouts for new site openings, and ensuring our car wash technology operates se4amlessly across multiple markets.

This position is ideal for a seasoned field IT professional with deep technical expertise, leadership capability, and the drive to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency across our operations. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Act as a senior technical field leader, partnering directly with the VP of IT & POS Systems to drive enterprise-wide initiatives, focusing on POS conversions, IT infrastructure, hardware, and backend systems.
  • Lead troubleshooting and installation for car wash POS systems (hardware, software, kiosks, pay stations, and integrated controllers).
  • Perform advanced repairs and diagnostics on proximity sensors, RFID readers, LPR technology, printers, gate mechanisms, low-voltage cabling, touchscreens, and related IT/controls equipment.
  • Configure, install, and maintain IT systems including network switches, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, servers, and client devices to ensure security and uptime.
  • Collaborate with POS suppliers and ModWash project managers to manage timelines, execution, and quality of POS conversions and new site rollouts.
  • Oversee ticket escalations and priority issues through internal IT service management systems, ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Provide leadership in coordinating after-hours/weekend support to protect uptime and revenue generation.
  • Manage IT and POS asset inventory, software licensing, procurement, and vendor warranty services.
  • Administer secure remote management tools (e.g., ScreenConnect, RMM platforms) for proactive support.
  • Train and mentor junior field service technicians to elevate technical capabilities and consistency across markets.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, and special projects teams to align IT with car wash uptime goals.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Micrologic, AMP, NXTWash, or similar car wash POS/control systems.
  • Experience with networking, relays, soldering, robotics, or industrial controls.
  • Proven ability to lead troubleshooting efforts, minimize downtime, and train/mentor others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication.
  • Proficiency with remote support platforms and IT administration tools.
  • Ability to travel across markets as required, including overnight and out-of-state assignments.
  • Must be highly organized with exceptional time management skills.
  • All travel expenses, mileage, flights, rentals, and lodging must be documented and approved by the VP of IT & POS Systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving history and ability to pass pre-employment background check.

Education and Experience:

5+ years of technical experience in IT systems, POS hardware/software, or field service support (car wash industry experience strongly preferred).

 

Work Environment:

Exposure to indoor and outdoor climates, including noise level.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full Time

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30am to 5:30pm, with some flexibility for remote work. May require flexibility to visit car wash locations during their operating hours, including weekends or early mornings.
