POSITION TITLE: Sunday Program Teacher   

PROGRAM: Recreation

SUPERVISOR: Director of Recreation

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Keshet is seeking a passionate and engaging Sunday School Teacher for its Chai School program serving adolescents. This role involves leading fun, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate activities that foster social interaction, Jewish connection, and personal growth. The teacher will create a welcoming and safe environment for participants each Sunday from 10:00am–12:00pm in Highland Park, beginning September 14th through April 26th. Additional hours may be available as a program aide in other Keshet programming. Join us in turning Sundays into meaningful and enriching experiences!

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements Jewish curriculum (including stories, Hebrew, etc.) while highlighting our core values
  • Uses expertise to modify basic curriculum provided
  • Creates lesson plans
  • Communicate with Program Manager on Weekly Basis
  • Assess and Evaluate student’s needs and modify curriculum accordingly
  • Delegates to and works with Teacher aides
  • Arrive on time, prepared and ready to work; be reliable in attendance

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Jewish History and Culture
  • Basic Hebrew language preferred
  • Experience with developmental/intellectual disabilities
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
