PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Autism Program Facilitator position is responsible for implementing individualized programming, collecting data, graphing client progress, and participating in autism program trainings regarding individualized student programming and ASD specific instructional techniques.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

 

  • Facilitate individualized skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming and intervention strategies directly with children.
  • Be able to complete the requirements to obtain certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
  • Demonstrate competency with implementation of behavior analytic strategies and interventions as designed according to clinical best-practice standards to maintain certification requirements as an RBT.
  • Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality with respect to arrival times as scheduled to ensure client service needs are met.
  • Collect and accurately record data across various formats and systems.
  • Maintain clean and organized client and staff areas.
  • Follow operational protocols relative to position.
  • Attending and actively participating in staff training and team meetings.
  • Demonstrate professional and accurate information while corresponding with parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

  • This position has no direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in special education, applied behavior analysis, psychology, or a related field.
  • Must have experience working with children in an educational or clinical environment, experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders or other relative developmental disabilities, OR relevant coursework.
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge of ASD instructional methodologies, or the ability to acquire such knowledge through training.
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge of ABA methodologies, or the ability to acquire such knowledge through training.
  • Able to establish a climate of trust, confidence, and mutual respect with a range of professionals and co-workers.
  • Skills to identify patterns or connections between situations that are not obviously related and to identify key or underlying issues in complex situations – utilizing creativity, conceptual reasoning, and inductive reasoning.
  • Able to respond to crisis and conflict with confidence and professionalism.

 

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

COGNITIVE DEMANDS

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of industry specific software, industry specific systems and other web-based software programs, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, jump, run, squat, and bend over. Regular Vision abilities, including computer work.

Standard office environment with high noise level, fast paced.
