Key Responsibilities
- Place outbound calls to graduates and learners using prepared questionnaires or computer-assisted interviewing (CAI) systems.
- Clearly explain the purpose of the survey, emphasizing confidentiality and the value of participant input.
- Accurately record responses in a secure database while following FERPA and institutional privacy guidelines.
- Verify contact information and update records as needed to maintain data accuracy.
- Encourage participation and address questions in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Meet established quotas for call volume and completed surveys while maintaining high-quality data standards.
- Provide feedback to supervisors on trends, response rates, and potential script improvements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or an associate degree preferred.
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills to engage a diverse alumni population.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and discussing sensitive topics such as employment and education plans.
- Detail-oriented with accurate data entry skills; experience with spreadsheets or survey software preferred.
- Familiarity with community college student experiences and career pathways is a plus.
Work Environment
Survey Interviewers may work on campus in a call center or remotely, depending on college needs. The role requires a professional demeanor, consistency in following protocols, and dedication to collecting high-quality data that supports the college’s mission and accreditation requirements.
