POSITION SUMMARY:

 

This role involves providing guidance to professionals seeking career development and supporting people with disabilities in their workplace integration. As a mentor, the Job Coach should have a genuine passion for supporting others. It is essential to identify individuals’ strengths and weaknesses, guiding them towards effective strategies. Strong communication skills and critical thinking abilities are fundamental for success in this role.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  1. Teach proper sewing/production methods, quality methods and sets goals for employees as well as other functions to include but not limited to conducting time studies, implementing and communicating curves to employees, and explaining pay as compared to efficiency.
  2. Set goals for employees, implement curves and explain pay structure.
  3. Develop effective job coaching and employment plans
  4. Communicate with clients to understand their goals and ambitions
  5. Assist clients to discover and overcome their personal barriers and set goals
  6. Assess the strengths of individuals and teach them to use them effectively
  7. Guide clients in learning to complete job tasks
  8. Help in the development of motivation and skills
  9. Provide coaching in effective job search techniques
  10. Assist people with disabilities in developing social and life skills
  11. Advise on workplace accommodations for people with disabilities
  12. Monitor and evaluate progress of sewing machine operators
  13. Keep records and documentation and prepare appropriate reports
  14. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by direction of Training center.

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 

To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed on the job analysis are representative of the skill, and/or ability required. 

 

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

 

Experience:

  1. Proven experience as job coach (3 years minimum)
  2. ASL (American Sign Language) is a plus
  3. Experience in working with people with disabilities is a plus
  4. Experience in developing employment plans
  5. Ability to adhere to regulations and standard
  6. Working knowledge of MS Office
  7. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  8. Excellent organizational and problem-solving ability
  9. Respect to diversity
  10. Ability to inspire and motivate

 

Job Skills training Credential :

 

Other Skills and Abilities: Effective oral and written communication skills required.  Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

 

Physical Demands: Must be able to stand/sit/walk for up to/more than 10 hours daily.   Frequently sits, bends, kneels, and reaches out with hands/arms. Must be able to lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

Work Environment: Primarily work in a manufactory environment and some office environment.
