Starting wage: $21.00-$23.00, consideration will be given to candidates’ education and background.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Days.
Training
- Orientation: Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff. You can expect a one-week orientation, where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for your role. This first week is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM at our Alternatives Training Center,

To be a successful Employment Placement Specialist, you will need the following skills and qualifications:
The Employment Placement Specialist should be able to work with offenders in a fair and consistent manner, showing empathy and holding them accountable to program rules.
If you have at least one year of experience in social services, guidance, counseling, and or job placement, you may be a great fit! Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Work experience may be substituted with a specialized degree or certification in the field of guidance, counseling, or career development.
Excellent writing, speaking, documentation, and public relations skills are a must.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, as regular off-site meetings are required with resident employers in the community.
- Must be able to pass federal workplace drug screen test and background test.

As part of a dedicated team of change agents, you'll support residents in their journey toward success by applying cognitive behavioral interventions aimed at reducing recidivism and enhancing public safety.
As the Employment Placement Specialist (EPS), you will:
- Lead Job Club sessions to prepare residents for employment.
- Make referrals to Job Service and other employment resources.
- Verify all new resident employment placements.
- Address any public relations concerns with employers.
- Provide ongoing support and oversight for residents’ employment-related tasks, goals, and questions.
About the Team
The Employment Placement Specialist (EPS) is a key member of the Alpha House Case Management team, a dynamic group dedicated to supporting men in our pre-release program.
This team is led by a seasoned Program Supervisor with over a decade of experience at the Agency. Her deep passion for corrections is backed by a recently completed Master’s in Criminal Justice, with a focus on corrections and rehabilitation. She oversees the day-to-day programming operations and brings both expertise and heart to everything she does.
