Description

Singleton Schreiber, LLP is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team in San Diego. This hybrid role will play a key part in financial reporting, forecasting, and supporting both operational and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate has exceptional Excel and data analysis skills, financial reporting experience, and a forward-thinking approach to process improvement.

 

This is a hybrid position (2 days onsite, 3 remote) based out of San Diego, CA.

 

SALARY: $80,000-$100,000 per year

 

Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualifications for the role.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Develop and maintain monthly dashboards and KPI reports for accounting and settlement accounting.

  • Prepare monthly financial statements, settlement reporting, and stale check reviews.

  • Support month-end close activities for both settlements and general accounting.

  • Lead efforts to automate reporting processes or evaluate third-party reporting tools.

  • Build and maintain financial forecasting models.

  • Provide analytical support to leadership for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Lead the accounting team's conversion from QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

  • Research and stay current on AI technologies relevant to financial analysis and reporting.

  • Oversee and close out multiple entities.

  • Reconcile and support the closure of legacy IOLTA accounts.

  • Support case close outs and assist in developing the case close out process.

  • Collaborate with and support internal stakeholders.

  • Assist with ad hoc projects and special initiatives as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field - or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of progressive financial analysis or reporting experience.

  • Expert-level Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial modeling.

  • Experience with the month-end close process and systems (QuickBooks strongly preferred).

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls.

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with IOLTA reporting or legal accounting is a plus but not required.

  • Detail-oriented, forward-thinking, and team-focused.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
