As a Human Resources Director, you would be responsible for driving strategic HR initiatives that align talent, organizational design, and workforce planning with business growth. Reporting to the President of our Fire Safety Division, you will serve as a key partner to the business unit and our St. Louis manufacturing plant. This role will drive HR strategies to support business growth while overseeing all aspects of HR – organizational development, talent management, talent assessment and selection, employee engagement, compliance, and operational effectiveness. You will work closely with the enterprise Talent Acquisition team to build effective recruitment pipelines and ensure seamless integration of new talent aligned with our growth objectives. This role is ideal for a strategic HR leader with experience in fast-growing organizations who excels at aligning people strategies with business goals, coaching leaders, building high-performing teams, and navigating change within dynamic, operational environments.

 

What You’ll Do

  • As a strategic business partner and change agent, advise the President of Fire Safety and leadership team on organizational design, talent strategies, and workforce planning to support rapid growth
  • Collaborate with the CHRO and HR leadership to align local HR initiatives with company-wide strategies and processes
  • Drive succession planning, talent identification, leadership development, and talent reviews to ensure long-term organizational bench strength.
  • Align workforce plans with organizational objectives by utilizing workforce planning methodologies and tools to anticipate future talent needs
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to support and enhance recruitment efforts, including workforce planning, talent pipeline development, and hiring manager engagement
  • Lead learning and talent development strategies and processes globally for the company to build capabilities, accelerate the development of our employees and get talent ready for next assignments
  • Help evolve the company’s culture, including driving employee engagement and retention to enable a high performing workforce that contributes to strategic growth
  • Provide consultation to people leaders regarding goal setting and the full lifecycle of performance management inclusive of annual processes, feedback, and coaching
  • Lead and guide HR Generalists at the manufacturing site to ensure we are building the capabilities and culture for a highly productive operation
  • Partner with HR team to ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies in a growing and evolving environment
  • Analyze HR metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement across the business unit.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

     

Qualifications

What You Bring

Experience That Drives Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive HR experience in strategic and operational roles, including a minimum of 3 years in an HR leadership position
  • Demonstrated experience supporting fast-growing or scaling business units that have a global footprint
  • Proven track record partnering with Talent Acquisition to hire at scale
  • Experience leading others to solve complex people and organization problems using sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions
  • Ability to provide impact across a range of clients and business operations by leading cross-functional projects, managing moderate risk, resources, and complexity

Preferred Experience, Strengths & Skills

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Labor and Employment Relations or related field
  • Experience in manufacturing or operational settings is preferred; labor relations experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated achievements for impact in coaching, influencing, and problem solving with various levels of leadership
  • In-depth knowledge of organizational design, talent management, and change management
  • Experience working in a team environment across multiple time zones

Location

This is a full-time position, on-site at our St. Louis office. Travel between the company facilities in St. Louis is required weekly. Travel to other sites, customers, and conferences will be more limited and not exceed 5%.
