Dealer Service Support Specialist

SUMMARY: Primarily responsible for providing technical support to our external customer in the field by email, phone or in person.   

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides timely, accurate and in-depth product knowledge to customers.
  • Communicates with dealer service personnel supporting equipment repairs by troubleshooting equipment problems in the field.
  • Communicates with Dealer Parts Department and Weiler Parts Coordinator to ensure timely delivery of repair parts.
  • Documents field problems by recording service calls and details of field failures.
  • Provides documented feedback of field issues to various departments.
  • Processes warranty claims.
  • Develop and implement dealership service personnel training program.
  • Travel 5%-20%, as required.
  • Works in a safe manner at all times, following all safety guidelines.

The environment is typical for office administrative work; the employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.  However, while performing a portion of the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to loud noises, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. Certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Previous experience with mobile equipment.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to read, write and comprehend documents and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to internal and external individuals and groups. Ability to read technical instructions in diagram form, such as, hydraulics and electrical schematics.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. 

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient with Microsoft Office includes Word and Excel.

Ability to learn new computer software programs.

 

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

Detail-oriented with proven organizational skills.  Ability to effectively manage time and resources.

Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships and encourage openness with customers and peers.
