Position Summary

Acts as on-duty manager for the St. Louis Wheel Park outdoor attractions.

 

Essential Functions

  • Manages the daily logistics of all attractions 
  • Ensures that labor laws are being followed 
  • Maintains an appropriate amount of staffing based on business needs and ridership levels 
  • Assists operations manager with ensuring that labor is utilized cost-efficiently 
  • Makes decisions on weather-related downtime and closing attraction due to inclement weather 
  • Reports all downtime in the appropriate recordkeeping forms 
  • Immediately exports team member labor corrections to Operations Manager via appropriate forms 
  • Provides continual training and in-service to all team members 
  • Provides corrective action to team members that violate company policy including verbal warnings, written warnings, final written warnings, and suspension on approval from operations manager 
  • Audits team member performance to ensure all company policy, procedures, and standards are being maintained 
  • Trains and maintains certification to operate and assist within every team member position as needed 
  • Ensures that all sites are properly secured at the close of business each day 
  • Acts as a customer service agent to assist guests that are in need of assistance 
  • Maintains high level of cleanliness in all areas 
  • Performs any other duties assigned by management 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises the operations, maintenance, and sales staff when on duty, in relation to the operation of attractions

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must be able to work irregular hours (holidays, nights, weekends) as needed

 

Qualifications & Abilities

Communication 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Has oral and written proficiency of the English language.

Math 

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Applied Knowledge / Reasoning

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
