Hospice Aide – The Pillars Hospice Home

Episcopal Homes of Minnesota has proudly served seniors for 130 years. Located in the heart of St. Paul’s Midway neighborhood, our vibrant campus offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Home Care services. We are currently seeking a Hospice Aide to join our compassionate team at The Pillars Hospice Home—a mission-driven community dedicated to providing comfort, dignity, and exceptional end-of-life care.

Wage: $19.38 – $24.65/hour (commensurate with experience)
Schedule: Full-Time | 0.8 FTE | Evening Shift (3:00pm – 11:30pm) | Every Other Weekend

What You’ll Do

  • Provide direct personal care and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) based on each patient’s care plan
  • Deliver compassionate end-of-life support to minimize suffering and maximize comfort
  • Assist with delegated procedures as directed by the RN, within state-permitted scope
  • Accurately document care in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational protocols
  • Support daily home operations, including meal preparation, cleaning, organizing, and stocking
  • Communicate effectively with the RN and interdisciplinary team, reporting observations, changes, and patient/family needs
  • Collaborate as a supportive team member to ensure the needs of patients and families are met

What We’re Looking For

  • Completion of a Hospice Aide training program and competency evaluation
  • Understanding of hospice philosophy and interdisciplinary team care
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with genuine compassion for end-of-life care
  • Ability to work collaboratively, maintaining professionalism in sensitive and emotional situations

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nursing Assistant listed on the Minnesota Registry
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Understanding of and commitment to resident rights and dignity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or memory care settings

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, bending, and walking throughout the shift.
  • Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
