TITLE: Vice President of Finance

 POSITION PURPOSE:

The VP of Finance plays a critical role in steering the organization to optimal results by creating innovative solutions to drive organizational change and continuous improvement of business issues, developing teams, and motivating others to accomplish the Company’s objectives. The position supports multiple stakeholders ranging from each functional department to the executive team, the Board of Directors and the Company’s shareholders. The VP of Finance will report to the CFO and lead the financial planning/analysis and treasury functions on a global basis optimizing the teams’ resources.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the short-and long-term financial planning process; partner with corporate and functional leaders to shape business priorities and execute on those priorities.
• Redesign the annual business planning process ensuring alignment between the functional areas’ tactics, the long-term sales growth initiatives and the Company’s operating model.
• Drive a well-organized and efficient annual business plan process that incorporates the key drivers for growth and cost containment activities.
• Implement a quarterly forecast process to reflect the latest data by creating operational discipline with the business units to provide an updated view of the Company’s forecasted results.
• Perform trend analysis to identify risks that affect the commercial aspect of the business and provide recommendations to mitigate those risks.
• Review business analyses performed by team to ensure relevancy and coherence are prioritized; focus on providing the story of the numbers.
• Oversee the development of the investment plan, monitor the investment results, and timely address any potential economic risks that could materially affect investment income.
• Lead and develop a highly functioning team to generate executive level financial presentations for the shareholders, Board of Directors and members of the Executive Leadership Team.
• Manage, train and develop team concerning executive level presentations, quality, accuracy and timeliness.
• Cultivate and nurture relationships across the Company.

• Excellent analytical, financial modeling, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Solid written and oral communication skills - the ability to convey complex financial information.
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills; understands sense of urgency.
• Executive presence and ability to have insightful discussions with senior leadership.
• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to change in a dynamic environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 10-year experience in Finance or equivalent field, preferably leading FP&A activities within the insurance. industry with an understanding of regulatory and rating agency constraints.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or similar; MBA preferred.
• Experience in a global, multi-subsidiary company; insurance organization a plus.
• Functional knowledge of financial reporting and accounting with strong attention to detail.
• Bilingual – English and Spanish languages.
