POSITION SUMMARY
The Data Architect role will require an individual with a primary specialization in MDM architecture to help design the next generation of data management, platforms, and pipelines that advance ECRI’s mission of delivering safe, high-quality, evidence-based healthcare worldwide.
This person will be asked to leverage creativity and results-oriented critical thinking to tackle complex challenges — from modernizing data models to designing robust pipelines and data warehouse architectures. They will apply their knowledge of gold, silver, and bronze layers, modern cloud technologies, and best practices in logical data modeling to ensure our data ecosystem is secure, scalable, performant, and ready for the future.
This role will collaborate closely with IT Platform & Software Engineers in a healthy work-life balance environment that combines the innovation of a startup with the stability of ECRI’s 50-year mission to make healthcare safer for all. |

Essential Functions:

Architect and implement scalable MDM solutions that support mastering various domains such as customer, company, product, and vendor data across the enterprise. |

Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to define Master Critical Data Elements (MCDEs), data lineage, and transformation logic. |
|
• |
Design and maintain authoritative data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) and hierarchies, including legal and business views, aligned with ECRI’s evolving operational and analytics needs. |

Lead the design, development, testing, and documentation of data ingress/egress, schemas, and related streaming/batch processing data pipelines. |
|
• |
Guide data warehousing strategies, ensuring proper logical modeling, metadata management, and efficient data storage for gold, silver, and bronze layer architectures |

Collaborate with data engineers and platform teams to design robust ETL/ELT pipelines (batch and streaming) using cloud-native tools |

Ensure data architecture meets non-functional requirements, including high availability, scalability, performance, resiliency, security, disaster recovery, and backups |

Lead the design, development, testing and documentation of data models, schemas, and related streaming/batch processing data pipelines and business logic |
