Description

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on leader to head our Painting Line – E-Coat operations. Initially based in Troy, Michigan, the selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the e-coating process, including planning, execution, quality control, maintenance coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.

After approximately two years, the role will require relocation to South Carolina, where the individual will lead the full operational integration of the painting line in our new facility.

Lead and manage all operations related to the E-Coat Painting Line, ensuring high performance in safety, quality, productivity, and equipment uptime.

Oversee the preparation, loading, coating, curing, and unloading processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Supervise a multidisciplinary team, promoting a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Monitor and optimize coating parameters, such as bath composition, electrical settings, and curing cycles.

Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and drive process enhancements.

 

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and internal policies related to chemical handling and waste management.

Participate in the planning and implementation of the painting line setup in South Carolina, including layout, equipment installation, and team development.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

Technical Qualification

  • 5 years of manufacturing with at least 3 years in E-Coat or painting line operations. (preferably two years practical experience in automotive industry manufacturing environment) in Ladder Frame.

  • Experience working in the Painting line E-coat

  • Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor experience is a plus.

  • Experience working in an organization that has a well-implemented “Safety Culture” is a plus

Experience in automotive manufacturing with a focus on chassis and structural components.
