I. General Purpose of the Job
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for general kitchen sanitation and washing of pots and dishes in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as Artesia Christian Home’s established policies and procedures. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining the storeroom. This position will report to and respond to directions provided by the Food Unit Lead and Director of Dining Services to ensure that quality service is always provided.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities  Â
- Scrape and/or rinse food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or conveyor dishwashing machines, depending on assigned equipment. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Wash pots, pans, and trays based on assigned procedures. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Polish silver using a burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth, depending on assigned equipment and procedures. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Ensure compliance with outlined safety procedures and utilizing appropriate personal protection equipment.
- Maintain temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards, documenting appropriate logs by work area.
- Keep dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces.
- Removes trash and places it in designated containers. Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Help load and unload supplies and products.
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Follow facility safety, emergency & disaster program.
- Observe infection control procedures related to the dietary department.

- Attend all in-service training programs and complete Relias trainings as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor cooperatively.
- Employees are subject to work on the Main Campus and/or Memory Care.
