The Team: 
Our Operations Teams function as the primary heartbeat of the factory. Supporting that team is critical to the success of each cell and company as a whole. It is the Water Spiders responsibility to provide support to help achieve that success. 
 

The Role: 
A Water Spider is a person whose main job is to make sure that materials are supplied to where they are needed. As a material replenishment position, the Water Spider must be intimate with the processes and people they are supporting to fully understand the needs. The goal with this position is to maintain continuous flow of materials, both at the inflow of raw and outflow of finished goods.     

You will spend your time:

• Picking various materials, parts, and assemblies from warehouse, VMI, and various staging locations. 
• Preparing and staging materials and supplies for orders according to various requirements.
• Stocking and maintaining cell inventory, material, tools, machines, consumables, and paperwork. 
• Replenishing (inflow) and returning (outflow) materials and dunnage (pallets, totes, waste, and cardboard) as needed per request, visual indicators, or if found defective.
• Helping coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers. 
• Communicating needs and statuses between shift Supervisors, Cell Coordinators, Assemblers, other Water-spiders and Material handling groups.
• Communicating with other support groups when necessary. (Engineering, Planning, Quality, etc.)
• Completing shift paper work.
• Assisting in production as necessary to include setup and breakdown of jobs and working as an assembler.
• Using Epicor to complete required material movements and research as required.
• Identifying, improving, and/or reporting pick errors, process issues, and quality concerns.
• Reading basic work instructions to determine materials staging and preparation methods needed to support assembly work.
• Proactively identifying shortages prior to late delivery.
• Completing other tasks assigned as needed.

Travel:

• This position may travel between all RIS facilities; Lewiston, Winona, and Rushford.  
• Infrequent travel for trainings and/or business needs may be required.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling
• Ability to walk, stand, and sit
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
