Ginger Cove is currently seeking a Full-Time RN Staff Development/QA Coordinator to support our community.  

The RN Staff Development/QA Coordinator is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the organization’s QA Program and QAPI Program. Ensures the facility follows the regulatory requirements relating to staff education. Creates a learning environment that aligns with the Ginger Cove Mission & Vision Statement promoting a quality abundant life, meeting the social, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of all residents. 

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities of RN Staff Development:

  • Identify and define employee's present and future training and development needs.
  • Prioritize, plan, design, implement and evaluate programs and initiatives utilizing the latest instructional technologies, addressing both training and developmental needs of Ginger Cove employees. 
  • Designs educational curriculum and materials.
  • Creates functional objectives for all professional development presentations.
  • Provides training and approves new training techniques.
  • Provides engaging communications about program information to encourage participation.
  • Develop group and individual learning courses.
  • Conduct new employee orientation to clinical staff and coordinate competency completion.
  • Ensure for or deliver annual mandatory and continuous education for staff using internal or external resources according to state and federal regulations and company policy.
  • May assist in the screening and hiring of nursing staff.
  • Complete required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
  • Stay up to date: ensure a constant development of professional skills, certifications and personal course completions through attending workshops/seminars, reviewing professional publications, participating in professional industry associations to be fully prepared to deliver content to Ginger Cove staff.
  • Assists in leading training and in-service meetings throughout the year.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities of Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator:

  • Oversees and develop the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Gathers QAPI project reports from all departments and reviews them for accuracy.
  • Prepares QAPI reports for any regulatory entities, the Nursing Home Ombudsman, Family and Resident Councils.
  • Assists staff in identifying problem areas and utilizing the QAPI process in problem solving.
  • Evaluates data provided by the CMS Quality Indicators/Quality Measures with the Administrator and Director of Nursing and coordinates changes/interventions required with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintains current knowledge of governmental regulations and assists the Administrator and Director of Nursing in maintaining compliance.
  • Educates staff in the QAPI Plan and facilitates staff involvement in the QAPI process.
  • Works with Compliance Officials to ensure that Ginger Cove is working is the full ethics of the regulations of the government.
  • Provides on-call availability on assigned weekends.
  • Conducts QAPI audits.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS or BA in Nursing
  • State of MD RN License
  • Five (5) years of RN experience providing direct nursing care for extended care and/or transitional clinically skilled/rehabilitation patients or recent clinical experience in acute care setting
  • Two (2) years of Nursing Education and/or Quality Assurance/Improvement (or practical experience as obtained through routine audits, compliance reviews, post-survey/plan of correction audits, in-servicing, et al.)
  • At least two to three years of experience in a long-term care facility setting.
  • Quality Assurance and Improvement management or teaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience working with senior communities.
  • Experience caring for residents with Alzheimer’s and/or dementia.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to organize, supervise, delegate and provide leadership.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Must have a valid form of federally issued ID.
  • Must have current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Must present self in a professional manner.
  • Must possess concern, responsiveness, and tact when dealing with others.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with others to help colleagues to achieve respective goals for creating wellness opportunities and experiences for our residents.
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified time frame.
