Ginger Cove is currently seeking a Full-Time Director of Development. The Director of Development is responsible for leading the planning, development, and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the mission and long-term sustainability of the Ginger Cove community. This role works closely with organizational leadership, the Annapolis Life Care Board, the Foundation Board and its Development Advisory Committee, residents, and other key stakeholders to cultivate relationships and generate philanthropic support through annual giving, major and planned gifts, special events, grants, and other relevant activities.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan aligned with the organization's goals and priorities.
  • Oversee all fundraising activities, including annual giving, major and planned giving programs, special events, selected grant opportunities, and other related activities.
  • Cultivates and strengthens strategic relationships with external partners to enhance the community's reputation, further its mission, and improve access to financial and other vital resources through donations, partnerships, and other methods. 
  • Engage in continuous cultivation and maintenance of donor relationships.
  • Partner with leadership, residents, and Board members to identify fundraising opportunities and engage in donor outreach.
  • Establish and lead donor recognition and stewardship programs to ensure donor retention and satisfaction.
  • Manage the fundraising database and donor records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Provide communication to all donors acknowledging their gifts.
  • Create compelling fundraising communication materials including letters, brochures, presentations, and event materials.
  • Develop and communicate regular reports related to the sources and uses of the charitable funds for the ALC Board, the Foundation Board, relevant committees, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide support to the Foundation Board and its Development Advisory Committee, working with the President to develop agendas and content for committee meetings.
  • Ensure coordination with other community activities that have a philanthropic aspect but are not directly managed by the Director of Development (e.g. Employee Appreciation Fund, etc.).
  • Develop relationships for the benefits of the organization.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in fundraising and/or donor development.
  • Proven success in securing major and/or planned gifts and managing donor relationships.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills.
  • Demonstrate excellence in organizational and managerial skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must embrace the mission of ALC / Ginger Cove.
