Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School invites applications for a part-time Communications Coordinator - Videographer for the 2025-26 academic year. Located in Washington, DC, and founded in 1799, Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School educates young women in grades 9 – 12 in a faith-centered community focused on educational excellence and rooted in the Roman Catholic faith and Salesian tradition.  

The school seeks a Communications Coordinator who is warm and welcoming; has exceptional organizational and oral and written communication skills; and can work well both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller; this requires creativity and flexibility, as well as a strong design sensibility and understanding of branding. As part of the communications team, this individual will work with a diverse group of people, including both adults and students, and should be adaptable, able to multitask, and have a strong customer service mentality and a “can-do” approach. We’re constantly adapting to a changing marketing landscape, so we are looking for someone who is eager to continue growing and can learn new skills quickly. Most importantly, the ideal candidate believes in the value of a Catholic, all girls-education.

The coordinator is a member of the Communications team and assists the Director of Communications and the Assistant Director of Communications. Our Communications team supports the school President, Principal, Parents Association, Advancement Office (including Development and Alumnae Relations), the St. Jane de Chantal Salesian Center, Athletics, Arts, Student Life, and the Admissions team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support internal and external school communications and storytelling through visual media for use across multiple channels and platforms
  • Manage the process of storyboarding, scripting, scheduling, interviewing, directing, and logistical coordination for video projects
  • Film, edit, and produce video content for use on web, social media, and other forms of communication
  • Capture video B-roll for use across projects
  • Document school life in an official capacity and innovative ways (photography, videography, etc.) that highlight and showcase Visitation’s academic programs, co-curricular activities, traditions, annual events, and more for a variety of communication applications, including print and digital assets
  • Manage photography archive system (Pixevety) and in-house digital filing system for videos (Google Drive), including raw footage and final production files
  • Maintain camera and video equipment and accessories, and stay up-to-date on the latest editing software technology
  • Stay abreast of video editing trends, especially in short-form content
  • Process relevant invoices, maintain records, respond to communications-related inquiries, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

  • Work experience (internships considered)

  • Experience using Google Suite, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite or similar video editing software

  • Physical requirements include the ability to talk; finger; grasp; walk; sit for extended periods of time; and repetitive motion; sedentary work:  possibly exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and sometimes frequently to lift, carry or otherwise move objects and equipment; ability to move around campus and into several non-ADA compliant buildings; this position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

This position is part-time, working 20 hours per week. The working hours vary and are determined by school/project needs and consultation with the Director and Assistant Director of Communications; some events take place after 5 p.m. and weekend work is required several times a year. This position is benefits-eligible. The anticipated start date is September 22, 2025.

The pay range is $25 - $35 per hour commensurate with experience.
