This individual thrives in a collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering technically sound analyses that help clients resolve complex engineering questions. Candidates with interests extending into emerging areas such as electric vehicle (EV) charging systems, pipeline failures, scaffolding, and heavy equipment investigations will find this role both challenging and rewarding.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site, vehicle, and evidence inspections using appropriate technology and software to collect and analyze data.
- Design and perform tests, failure analyses, and material evaluations to determine root causes of failures.
- Evaluate claims and evidence; design and construct test fixtures as needed.
- Characterize metallic, polymeric, ceramic, and composite materials and components.
- Analyze complex mechanical systems and assess material failure modes.
- Prepare detailed technical reports summarizing scientific findings and conclusions for use in litigation, insurance claims, or industrial investigations.
- Present technical and educational content to clients, industry groups, and at professional conferences.
- Serve as a subject matter expert during depositions or testimony when required.
- Stay current with technical knowledge through continuing education, research, and participation in professional associations.
- Contribute to team success by collaborating on multidisciplinary investigations and mentoring junior engineers.
