Responsibilities

ScopeTo serve as the Receptionist for Northwest Bible Church ministry offices and provide support to all ministry areas through office organization.

Supervisor: Human Resources Manager

Employment Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:30am - 2:30pm

Environment: Office

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and Assist Visitors: Greet guests and staff in a friendly manner; notify appropriate staff of visitors and incoming calls.
  • Manage Incoming Calls: Answer and direct telephone calls professionally and helpfully.
  • Handle Mail and Packages: Receive, sort, and distribute mail and deliveries promptly.
  • Maintain On-Call Schedule: Keep the minister-on-call list accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor Front Office Activity: Monitor security cameras and walkie-talkie communication systems.
  • Manage Office Supplies: Ensure the Ministry Office and copy room are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Oversee Office Equipment: Monitor and maintain the postage meter and other office equipment.
  • Process Contributions and Payments: Coordinate weekly deposits to the bank, reconcile accounts, and post receipts to donor/remitter records.
  • Accounts Payable Management: Perform weekly check runs, maintain vendor files, review invoices and reimbursements, verify compliance (1099 status, insurance), enter data into A/P system, distribute checks and ACH payments, prepare annual 1099 forms, and complete month-end closing procedures.
  • Provide Administrative Support: Assist the Business Administrator, Human Resources Manager, and Lead Accountant with projects and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Support Ministry Teams: Offer administrative assistance to other ministries when required.

     

 

Requirements & Qualifications

As a religious organization, all employees must affirm and adhere to the Church’s Doctrinal Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage and Human Sexuality based upon its sincerely held religious beliefs, to qualify for involvement with the ministry. This is necessary to accomplish the Church’s religious mission, goals, and purpose.


  • Demonstrates a growing, active relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an outgoing, approachable personality and keen attention to detail.
  • Solid math proficiency for handling financial and numerical tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and skilled in general office operations.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful, able to work effectively under time constraints and frequent interruptions.
  • Capable of managing large volumes of information, working at a fast pace, and remaining focused in a stationary office environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements and maintain close visual focus for detailed tasks.
  • Physically able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
