Accounts Receivable Coordinator

Position Details:

  • Pay Range: $27.00 - $32.00 Hourly 
  • Full-Time, Non-Exempt
  • 40 hours per week 
  • Fully Onsite Position in Hayward, CA

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all cash receipts from students and campus departments.
  • Paypal cash receipts for Application fees.
  • Quarterly Invoices for tuition fees.
  • Billings to Dept of Veteran Affairs for students with Vocational Rehab benefits.
  • Create quarterly billings for Grad Fees, Clinic Business Cards and other misc. charges to AIR.
  • Using FTE to determine quarterly funding for the Student Council.
  • Track and apply quarterly student discounts or credits to tuition.
  • Disburse Federal Direct Loans for financial aid and issue checks to students from Direct Loans Disbursement while maintaining compliance with federal policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records for Federal Direct Loan online drawdown of funds, disbursements, and monthly reconciliation.
  • Maintain spreadsheets for quarterly reports.
  • Process, post and prepare reports of General Ledger.
  • Make files for new students each quarter.
  • Quarterly compilation of registration, invoices, payment or financial aid checks for each student's file.
  • Maintain confidential student files for yearly audit.
  • Reconcile aging of accounts with tuition receivables.
  • 1098T yearly Tax Forms to Internal Revenue Service.
  • Mail students copy of 1098 T.
  • Collections of delinquent debt.
  • Prepare daily banking deposits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of prior experience in accounting/ finance preferably in higher education in a similar position.
  • AA or equivalent.
  • Good communicator with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel.
  • Detail oriented with attention to accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Works well with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn basic financial record keeping methods, procedures, and practices.
  • Ability to make mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
  • Experience with three rivers CAMS/ Microsoft Great Plains.
