SUMMARY: The Environmental Technician is responsible for providing support to ensure the facility operates in compliance with environmental requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively support the facility’s Environmental Management System (EMS) to support continued ISO 14001 certification.
- Manage wastewater responsibilities, which include:
- Monitoring wastewater treatment operations
- Managing the NPDES permit requirements
- Submitting monthly monitoring reports
- Support the SPCC and SWPPP (storm water requirements).
- Supervise groundwater sampling and analyses, review analytical data, and coordinate report submittals.
- Monitor, Record, and Report daily air data.
- Assist with environmental self-audits of the operating areas, EMS internal audits, incident investigations, and ISO 14001 surveillance audits.
- With experience, further develop role into handling of air requirements, ISO 14001 management, hazardous/universal/solid waste management, and general management of the environmental function.
